So I must admit I’ve been in dereliction of duty these past few months. As entertaining as this blog has been for me, and as much as I’ve known that there was little way I could be productive in Hanover this summer, I can’t help but feel as though I’m neglecting the real reason why this website is here - to chronicle my filmmaking. A recent response to a post by a reader whom I don’t know underscored this for me, and ever since, I’ve been furiously working on notes for a screenplay that, frankly, won’t have the same plot as an upcoming Hillary Swank vehicle (vom). This new screenplay is called Rome - it’s not about the city per se, though it was conceived while I was there, and I’m keeping tight-lipped on plot. It’s a lot of things - part talky comedy of manners, part overt exploration into melodrama. I look forward to working on this in the coming months - it’s a fully-formed idea that really is starting to (as I put together a step outline) feel like an actual movie.

And so I call upon you, readers - kick my ass! I’m going to try to post updates on my work as much as possible, but if I slip into textual-wank mode on films I like (or hate), please feel free to respond to those posts about how much I should be working on my films. Besides, I will soon (though I cannot officially announce it yet) have a forum for some of my less impromptu writings on film.

Okay, now I’m going to go do laundry and do more outlining.
